Let's say there's a theft in your neighborhood. What would you do? You'd call the police and say, Sir, there's a theft here. You come and catch the thief.
And let's say the police comes and instead of catching the thief, they start beating you up. You'd be surprised. What's my fault? Why are you beating me up? I called you and told you that there's a theft here.
Similarly, when your body has elevated cortisol, it's not the fault of cortisol. Cortisol is a hormone which works as a messenger. What's the primary function of the hormones in the endocrine system? It's to work as a messenger in your body.
So, if cortisol is chronically elevated, it's not the fault of cortisol. There's no need to lower cortisol. It's basically signaling that there's something wrong with your body.
If you fix that, the chronic elevation of cortisol will automatically decrease. So, never try to reduce cortisol. If you reduce cortisol, symptoms will temporarily evade.
But the root cause of the problem will never be fixed.
